Parent Letter #15 - Bullying

posted Apr 6, 2011, 10:46 AM by Felicia Ippolito

Dear Parents/Guardians,

PS 108Q, The Captain Vincent G. Fowler School, takes bullying very seriously. Although it has not been a major issue we are working proactively to keep our students safe and worry free.

In order for the school to maintain a safe environment for all students, we put together assemblies for all students in grades K-5. Mrs. Sacks, our Guidance Counselor, showed grade appropriate videos depicting different bullying situations and discussed with the children ways to combat bullies in school. She also discussed with the students the importance of telling an adult when something happens.

In addition to these preventative measures that we practice in school on a daily basis, we want to enlist the support and cooperation of all the parents in our school community. If you see something happening, or your child tells you that they heard or know of something that is happening, please contact us so that we can help.

Thank you for your help in protecting our children.

Sincerely,

M. Biondollilo

Principal
