Parent Letter #12 - Retirement

posted Jan 4, 2017, 9:09 AM by Felicia Ippolito

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Over the last 16 years, I’ve had the enormous pleasure and honor to work at P.S. 108Q.  I came to P.S. 108 in 2000, as an assistant principal for 4 years and I transitioned into the principalship in 2004.  Throughout these 16 years, I’ve seen the school transform, through the hard work, determination, and commitment to excellence by our school staff.  We’ve seen your children make academic, social and emotional gains during their time at P.S. 108 and we’ve watched as they transitioned to middle school and high school.  Often they return to P.S. 108 expressing thanks for receiving a strong, solid elementary education.

I have served the Department of Education for the last 28 ½ years and have decided to retire effective December 31, 2016.  In anticipation of my retirement, I have been working closely with Mrs. Iovine, who will be assigned the Interim Acting Principal effective January 1, 2017 as per the superintendent.  (see reverse)

Mrs. Iovine has served as Assistant Principal for 9 years at P.S. 108 and has worked closely with me during that time.  I am confident that the transition will be smooth and that the children of P.S. 108 will continue to flourish under her leadership.

I will miss each and every one of the students.  They bring a smile to my face and amaze me every day with their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn.  I wish you much success, good health in the new year and encourage you to continue to be active partners in your child’s education.

Sincerely,

M. Biondollilo

Principal
