PARENT LETTER #11

October 2013

Dear Parents/Guardians:

As you may know, P.S. 108 has adopted a new math program called “Go Math”.  This year, your child will be learning many different math strategies and challenging math concepts that are aligned to the Common Core Standards.

As part of this new program, your child will be allowed to access the Go Math website at home.  This website will provide an opportunity for your child to reinforce the skills that are taught in class.  These activities are presented in a child friendly way and your child will find them to be very engaging.

Your child’s teacher will assign a special user name and password specifically for your child.  Please keep this important information in a safe place and one that is readily available.   It is advised that you encourage your child to visit this website daily.   This is a good way to show them that learning math can be fun.  The website is www-k-6.thinkcentral.com.

This website can also be found on the P.S. 108 website.

Let me know if you have any questions.

                                                                                    Sincerely,

                                                                                    M. Szczerba

                                                                                    Assistant Principal
